Eric Holder stated in his speech to Democratic Women in 1995 that people need to be brain washed to think of guns in a different way. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rY-HdiR5a0g . Merriam-Webster has two definitions of brain washing. The first one is “A forcible indoctrination to induce someone to give up basic political, social, or religious beliefs and attitudes and to accept contrasting regimented ideas”. The second one is “persuasion by propaganda or salesmanship”
I don’t know about you but I find it very disturbing that someone holding a government office thinks brainwashing people to give up their second amendment, or any other amendment for that matter, is the right thing to do. Brainwashing is what tyrants and dictators do.
I have to admit, Mr. Holder and types like him have done their very best. There are groups like Moms Demand Action, Every town for gun safety, Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, and Coalition to Stop Gun Violence that have made it their life’s mission to convince everyone that the transformer movies are real. They will tell you in a heartbeat that “guns kill people”
Those groups will spout off all kinds of qualifying surveys and facts to prove their point. Sadly they are so brainwashed by the Eric Holders of this world they cannot see the problem is people and not inanimate objects.
The brainwashing has even made it to the leadership in our very own District 43 Representative F. Gregory "Greg" Delleney, Jr. Chairman, House Judiciary Committee. For four years now Mr. Delleney would not even let bills to allow constitutional carry in the state of South Carolina out of the committee he chairs. Every other representative I ask to speak to Mr Dellendy responses by to the order of “He is a great man, a hard work, he feels open carry may scare some.
So it does not matter that we are one of five states that do not have some type of open carry(image show at the bottom of article) or that Researcher Gary Kleck found that 92 percent of criminal attacks are deterred when a gun is merely shown. https://www.usnews.com/debate-club/should-people-be-allowed-to-carry-guns-openly/open-carry-deters-crime
I find it hard to believe the state of South Carolina has many Hoplophobiacs. Half my family hunts and the other half eats what the other have harvested.
