Why I joined South Carolina Carry by Curtis Arrowood

To explain why I joined South Carolina Carry, I have to give you some of my history. Shortly out of high school, I joined the Navy. I did two enlistments then joined the South Carolina National Guard for a short period.

I was not very political until I came across an article that blew my mind. On April 15th of 2009, the then Head of Home Land Security, Janet Napolitano agreed with a report that wanted to put all returning veterans on a terror watch list. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/apr/16/napolitano-stands-rightwing-extremism/

Thank goodness for groups like the NRA and the American Legion. They pushed back until the matter was dropped.

During my active duty time, I received two good conduct medals, two Navy achievement medals, one Army achievement medal. I was an Electronics Technician with a top secret clearance. I maintained the entire communications infrastructure of a US Naval War Ship. During my shore duty I worked on communications gear in the Navy Yard and Pentagon. When I got out of the Navy I even got a call asking me to come back. I am not boasting. I want you to know how much the US Navy and US Government trusted me.

Even after I got out of service, I was loyal to my country and government and to one day see in the paper, that members of my government considered me worthy of a watch list, rocked me to my core. I realized people had worked their way into our government that where anti-American.

As the push to ban "assault rifles" grew, I started to research if they really needed to be banned. I found that knifes, hands and feet are used in more homicides that the AR-15. So why the push to ban it. Some say I am reaching, but I believe part of the reason is every veteran since the 1960s knows how to use it and use it well.

We must not give up our firearms. Especially with the influx of un-vetted immigrants. I am not against immigrants with good intentions but ISIS has stated they will use it to their advantage. You may not be aware but on New Year’s Day 2016 in Cologne Germany there were 1000 reported sexual assaults. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/cologne-attacks-what-happened-after-1000-women-were-sexually-assaulted-a6867071.html

Some have said it was part of the Muslim Fatwas encouraging the rape of non-believers. I have been told one tactic used is to form two circles around the victim or victims. The outer circle keeps anyone out that would help the victims while the inner circle commits the assault. I will tell you, nothing would terrorist me more than to have to watch that happen to my wife or daughter. An assault rifle is the perfect tool to make sure it does not.

Some say we have nothing to worry about but the Home Land Security Terror Map says otherwise.

I encourage everyone to google the past 12 months home land security terror snapshot. The results were very eye opening for me.

South Carolina Carry has already made things happen for us. I urge you to become a member and let’s help SCC grow, so we can get all the needed changes to protect our second amendment.
