William Timmons, candidate for South Carolina US House District 4, spoke at the Belton Gun Club as quest speaker for our October meeting. There was a large crowd in attendance that had the opportunity to ask Mr. Timmons several questions related to his campaign and his views on 2nd Amendment rights. I was attending as a member of Belton Gun Club, and to help represent the SCCarry group which I am also a member. Belton Gun Club is a proud corporate sponsor for South Carolina Carry.
Mr. Timmons gave a brief discussion on some of his reasons for running and what he hopes to accomplish after he wins this race. He is a strong supporter of term limits for US House of Representatives, and will push to have that established for all future elected US Congress members. He also shared his thoughts on government spending and need to get that under control. He also made it very clear he will remain accessible and his personal cell phone number can be used to get in touch with him most of the time even after he takes office should he win this election.
William also shared that he is a Concealed Weapons Permit holder in SC, and some personal stories of situations where he was not able to carry that makes him feel uncomfortable. He expressed his conviction that he feels better when he is in control for his own safety rather than having to solely depend on others to provide security. William shares a lot of common interests with the members present as gun owners and shooting sports enthusiasts. Mr. Timmons expressed himself well at our meeting and we got to see up close how he would represent the members of the Belton Gun Club as well as members of SCCarry.
